Ranking the top 32 NFL running backs for the 2022 season
28. Travis Etienne, Jacksonville Jaguars
2021 stats
- Did not record any stats, was injured all of 2021
The next time we see Travis Etienne on the football field for a regular season game will be the first time we’ll have seen him in meaningful action since he was a member of the Clemson program.
Etienne made a brief appearance in the preseason last year, and it’s easy to forget just how dynamic and dependable he was as the primary back in Clemson’s offense.
The Jacksonville Jaguars desperately need Trevor Lawrence to show signs of progress in his second NFL season and a healthy Travis Etienne is going to help them do exactly that.
The team has certainly been hyping Etienne up this offseason as he makes his way back from the dreaded knee injury.
Etienne has legitimate 4.40 speed and is tough to track down when he gets a full head of steam.
Although speed is a huge part of his game, Etienne also is hard to bring down with arm tackles. He does a good job of fighting through contact in the open field even if he’s not a bruising type of back.
Coming back from injury, it’s hard to know exactly what to expect from Etienne. The Jaguars upgraded their offensive line this offseason and with a better coaching staff in place, I expect him to be a stud.
