New NFL playoff team in 2022, no. 6: Baltimore Ravens

Can’t you just feel the comeback brewing for Lamar Jackson?

The former MVP is coming off of undoubtedly his worst season as a pro QB. He completed 64.4 percent of his passes in 2021, the same exact completion percentage he had in 2020.

The biggest differences for Lamar in 2021 compared to previous years?

His touchdown percentage decreased from 6.9 percent in 2020 to 4.2 in 2021. His interception percentage increased from 2.4 percent in 2020 to 3.4 percent in 2021.

He only had two rushing touchdowns in 12 games last year compared to seven rushing touchdowns in 15 games back in 2020.

Essentially, in a crucial year contract-wise, Jackson was as inefficient as we’ve seen him as an NFL quarterback. His insane 2019 season — over 1,200 rushing yards, 43 total TDs, only six interceptions, only 23 sacks — was always going to be near-impossible to replicate, but the 2021 season was hardly even a shell of that.

Jackson knows his contract situation, and I think he’s going to simply will this Ravens team back into the NFL playoffs in 2022-23.

The Ravens made some strong additions in the 2022 offseason, especially during the 2022 NFL Draft where they had one of the best overall classes of players.

Get Jackson someone like Jarvis Landry to come and play in the slot and get this team back into the postseason making noise, where it belongs.
