2. Washington Commanders vs. Philadelphia Eagles (Week 3 – September 25)

Okay, last “old friends” one. I promise. And yes, we’re going back to Wentz. In Week 3, the Washington Commanders square off with the Philadelphia Eagles. And a lot is going on here.

First of all, this is Washington’s first game against the Eagles on the schedule. It is also their first game against any NFC East team in the new season.

Their first two games of the season come against the Jaguars and the Detroit Lions. Those are two young and exciting teams. Both could be much improved in the upcoming season. However, they are also two very winnable games.

So there’s a decent chance the Commanders come into this game with a 2-0 record. They would have a chance to move up to 3-0 and already have a W over an NFC East opponent early in the year.

Oh, and you know – the whole “Wentz vs. Philadelphia” thing going on. This game is in Washington. So you could argue their second meeting (Week 10 – November 14) will be much more interesting.

Let’s be honest. If Wentz is still starting that’s a must-watch for everyone. Philadelphia fans are brutal and you know they’re going to let their old starter hear it.

However, this is the bigger game. Wentz has a chance to establish dominance early. Get that win against the team that drafted him out of the way immediately. It certainly would take a lot of pressure off him.

This could be the game that really sets things up. A dominant start from the QB could help to set the tone and get him rolling. On the other hand, a bad start could see him spiral.

Getting that first NFC East dub early is sweet. Getting it against your new QBs old team is even sweeter.
