The Philadelphia Eagles’ roster got another massive boost and their chances of winning the NFC East increased with the addition of James Bradberry.

The Philadelphia Eagles‘ dramatic roster makeover continues, and general manager Howie Roseman keeps on collecting Ws.

Everybody knows that Roseman is one of the most aggressive executives in the NFL, and he’s lived up to that reputation in the 2022 offseason with a handful of blockbuster moves.

Roseman made the big draft-night trade to acquire wide receiver AJ Brown from the Tennessee Titans, seemingly at a discounted rate.

He had already signed pass rusher Haason Reddick to a deal in free agency.

He traded up to land one of the freakiest athletes you’ll ever see on the defensive line in Georgia’s Jordan Davis.

Now, he’s signed himself a Pro Bowl cornerback in James Bradberry.

Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles land James Bradberry

Not only did the Eagles land James Bradberry, but they seemingly did so at a discounted rate.

Getting him for only $7.25 million in guaranteed cash is a sweet haul for Roseman and the Eagles, especially considering the fact that they had already made some big moves this offseason.

The new-look Eagles defense looks poised to compete for the NFC East title in 2022 and this move is all the sweeter because they took Bradberry from a division rival.

Despite a ton of speculation that Bradberry could reunite with Patrick Graham who is now with the Las Vegas Raiders, he now becomes the CB2 in Philadelphia on the opposite side of the field from Darius Slay, a tremendous offseason pickup for Roseman and the Eagles in 2020.

Slay is now 31 years old, but he’s coming off of a Pro Bowl season in which he had three defensive touchdowns.

Here’s what the new-look Philadelphia Eagles defense could look like in 2022 (in the nickel alignment).

DL: Fletcher Cox
DL: Javon Hargrave
DL: Jordan Davis
EDGE: Brandon Graham
EDGE: Haason Reddick
LB: Kyzir White
LB: Nakobe Dean
CB: Darius Slay
CB: James Bradberry
NCB: Avonte Maddox
S: Anthony Harris
S: K’Von Wallace

At this point, you can’t help but wonder if the next step for this Eagles team is going to be making a move at the safety position to really complete the overhaul of this defensive unit from a year ago.

Not only does the starting lineup look different, but the Eagles also have some intriguing depth off the edge this season.

Adding James Bradberry furthers the outstanding roster improvement we’ve seen in the last couple of seasons as the Eagles tore down the Super Bowl squad (for the most part) and really reset.

This team is now that much closer to contending again for the NFC East crown.
