NFL trade target #5: Greedy Williams, CB, Cleveland Browns

Another Browns player that could see himself dealt during training camp, Greedy Williams has failed to develop into a premier defender while in Cleveland.

When he has been on the field and healthy, he has been average at best. That said, he can’t be counted on to start regularly right now, and thus he could be on the move during camp.

Add in the recent additions that the Browns have made at cornerback and Williams’s odds seem even worse.

They drafted Greg Newsome last year in the first round and have gotten far better results. He should be penciled in as the starter right now.

As well, they drafted Martin Emerson with their first pick in this past draft. He could take on the role of a third cornerback.

The fact that he is still on his rookie deal once again makes a trade for Williams a necessary one. The Browns can keep him around for one more season and let him go into free agency next season.

If they get a decent deal offered or even a good player at a position of need though, expect to see Williams get moved.
