NFL trade target #3: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers

The last reaming quarterback that had some real potential to get traded this offseason, Jimmy Garoppolo could still be moved during the offseason if the right deal presents itself.

He was initially seen as a lock to get moved, but either a lack of interest or a high price has caused talks to stall. Now it seems like Garoppolo will be carried through at least camp.

While this isn’t the end of the world, especially when you have a rookie quarterback playing on a playoff-caliber team, he does carry a massive cap hit.

The 49ers would certainly love to get some cap relief in a trade as well as acquire assets to build the rest of this roster out. Odds are they are still trying to move Garoppolo.

Training camp could become their friend, as injuries can mount or a team can not like what their current options are at quarterback. That could necessitate a move for Garoppolo and still net the 49ers a decent return for the veteran.

There is a chance he remains on this roster through this season, but don’t be surprised to see Garoppolo get traded before camp wraps up.
