Buffalo Bills breakout candidate no. 4: Tim Settle- DT- 5th season (1st with the Bills)

With all the excitement amongst some of the other free agent signings the Buffalo Bills made this summer, Bills fans can be forgiven if the signing of Tim Settle went unnoticed.

He joins the team as a free agent from Washington where he struggled to crack the starting lineup behind their solid set of first-round picks on the D-line.

He won’t be as well-known as Von Miller, but do not let his lack of playing time fool you — this dude is a baller!

At 6’3” and over 300 pounds he is a mountain of a man who also can rush the passer effectively. It’s no secret the Bills’ defensive front will be much changed this season.

With the departures especially in the interior of the line, losing Harrison Phillips and Cutting Star Lotulelei, Settle will have an opportunity to make an impact right out of the gate.

He was able to make a solid contribution to Washington’s defense in 2020 when he saw regular playing time. I would expect him to be at least as effective as that in Buffalo this fall.

With the firepower lining up around him don’t be surprised if you hear his name called early and often this season.
