The Dallas Cowboys hope to take their next step in 2022 but in order to do so, they should consider bulking up a few positions via trade

This offseason saw a lot of change for the Dallas Cowboys as they said goodbye to several starters — including Amari Cooper, La’el Collins, Connor Williams, and Randy Gregory.

As for replacements, they primarily used the draft — although they did try a couple of bargain free agents including EDGE Dante Fowler and wide receiver James Washington.

There still is room for more depth and competition at every spot and they would be smart to look to some other teams to find that. Here, we have four targets Dallas could look for in a trade that could help round out their roster in 2022.

Dallas Cowboys Trade Target No. 4: Geoff Swaim, TE

This one is a familiar name since Geoff Swaim spent the first four seasons of his career with America’s Team. In that time, he played in 43 games with 18 starts and was the main starter in 2018 following Jason Witten’s exit — before an injury cut his season short.

Since then, he spent one season in Jacksonville and two in Tennessee. In 2021, he was the starter for the Titans who claimed the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Swaim finished with 31 receptions for 210 yards with six touchdowns.

However, the Titans added Austin Hooper in free agency and that could lead to them listening to an offer for Swaim. In Dallas, he would give them a much better No. 2 option after they let go of Blake Jarwin.

Swaim won’t take the top off a defense — he averages just 7.9 yards per catch in his career — but he rarely drops passes and is solid as an in-line blocker which is what Dallas wants in their second tight end.
