No. 30 NFL quarterback in 2022: Gardner Minshew, Philadelphia Eagles

Out of all the placements on this list, I have a feeling my placement of Gardner Minshew here at no. 30 is the most “hot takey” of them all.

Minshew isn’t a starter for the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s entering a contract year in 2022 and I think other than Kyler Murray, he’s been arguably the best quarterback from the class of 2019.

Minshew has proven, pretty much every time he’s been out on the field whether he was with the Jaguars or the Eagles, that he’s got the gamer gene.

You love the way this guy competes, his accuracy with the ball, and the confidence with which he plays.

I’m surprised more teams weren’t calling the Eagles this offseason trying to trade for Minshew.

Maybe they still will.

Maybe I’m overrating him.

All I know is, this guy has passed the eye test and would be a worthy dart throw for some team that needed a spot starter for a year.

I’m eager to see him get that opportunity in 2022 or 2023, likely somewhere outside of Philadelphia.

Minshew will turn 27 next offseason, so his best days should still be ahead of him. He might turn out to be another Case Keenum — a high-quality backup and not a long-term starting option — but he deserves another shot to prove it.
