No. 25 NFL quarterback in 2022: Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are hellbent on proving that Tua Tagovailoa was the right pick in 2020.

Time will tell if they are right.

Apparently, two winning seasons with Brian Flores was not enough to make up for a difference of opinion over Tua, and because of the difference of opinion, Flores was fired this offseason.

The Dolphins ended up hiring Mike McDaniel from the 49ers to replace Flores, and they followed that up by adding a bunch of playmakers for Tua to get the ball to, including star Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill.

The Dolphins’ blockbuster deal for Tyreek Hill was the clearest signal yet that this team is bought into Tagovailoa. That’s simply not a move you make just for the sake of doing so.

The question is — will Tua Tagovailoa be able to take advantage of all the weapons he now has at his disposal, or will we all be left wanting more yet again?

Part of the issue with Tagovailoa is the fact that his peers in the 2020 NFL Draft class — namely Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert — have been doing incredibly well in their young NFL careers.

Tagovailoa has been benched and very inconsistent. To be fair, it hasn’t been a very healthy working environment because the front office clearly has had Tua’s back and the coaching staff under Flores obviously didn’t.

Now, he has the freedom of knowing the front office and the coaching staff have his back. How quickly can we see a major progression in his game?

For the Dolphins’ sake, hopefully very quickly to start the season.
