NFL 2022: Ranking the top 43 quarterbacks in the league
No. 42 NFL quarterback in 2022: Malik Willis, Tennessee Titans
Could Malik Willis be the successor to Ryan Tannehill? Certainly not if Tannehill has anything to say about it.
The rookie out of Liberty was expected, at one point, to go potentially as the top overall quarterback in this year’s draft and somewhere in the top 10 picks overall.
That obviously didn’t happen as the whole league passed on Willis for two, almost three rounds.
The Titans scooped him up in round three and honestly, it was probably an ideal scenario for Willis to go into.
Not that these players will ever admit to caring about the pressure that can come along with certain draft status, but there are inherently vastly different expectations for Willis the 86th overall pick in the NFL Draft compared to Willis the 25th overall pick in the Draft.
Willis is obviously a tremendous talent and a fascinating prospect with a huge arm, elite athleticism, and playmaking ability.
Can he end up an NFL starter sooner rather than later?
It would be a lot of fun to see what he could do in Tennessee with such a strong running game behind him, namely in tandem with Derrick Henry.
