No. 15 NFL quarterback in 2022: Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
I don’t really buy Ryan Tannehill.
The question is — why?
Tannehill has been pretty darn good since taking over as the starting quarterback of the Titans midway through the 2019 season.
Tannehill replaced Marcus Mariota in the lineup during a shutout loss to the Denver Broncos and he hasn’t looked back.
The Titans are currently in the midst of one of their most prosperous stretches of football in recent team history.
Mike Vrabel is being recognized for his outstanding coaching.
Tannehill earned his first Pro Bowl nod and has been able to stay healthy since relocating to Tennessee.
The Titans have lost only 13 regular season games in three years since Tannehill took over as the starter. You will take that kind of team success 10 times out of 10 if you can get it.
The Titans gave Tannehill a big contract but you can’t help but wonder if they’re experiencing some buyer’s remorse. Their name still comes up in plenty of QB rumors, and they just drafted Malik Willis out of Liberty.
I think Ryan Tannehill deserves some due respect for the way he’s led this Titans team the last couple of years, but I can’t buy him as a top-10 quarterback. I think the Titans have peaked with the kind of success they can have with him under center.
