No. 41 NFL quarterback in 2022: Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons

Just before the 2022 NFL Draft, it was clear that NFL teams liked Desmond Ridder more than the masses among Draft Twitter seemed to think they would.

Ridder ended up being the second quarterback selected in the 2022 Draft, but he wasn’t picked until the third round, no. 74 overall, to the Atlanta Falcons

Just as is the case with Malik Willis and the Titans, Ridder landed in a pretty great spot with the Atlanta Falcons, who have been doing their best to add to the receiver room during and after the Draft.

The Falcons added Drake London with the 8th overall pick and they swung a trade for Bryan Edwards of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Ridder brings a ton of poise and experience with him to the NFL as well as a load of tools.

He’s almost a carbon copy of Marcus Mariota in terms of his size and athleticism, and I think he’ll be able to pick up Arthur Smith’s offense rather quickly.

The question is, how fast can he prove himself worthy of a starting job?
