No. 14 NFL quarterback in 2022: Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins puts up such good numbers, you’d have a hard time believing the Vikings just can’t find consistent success as a team with him under center.

The Vikings have a record of 33-29-1 with Kirk Cousins under center.

They have been the epitome of average over the last handful of seasons despite Cousins throwing 68 total touchdowns in 2020 and 2021 combined.

Again, Cousins experiences plenty of individual success. He has a high completion rate. He throws for a lot of yards. He has a lot of touchdowns.

He makes a ton of money.

Unfortunately, the results are just not there for the Vikings, who have only made the playoffs one time since signing Cousins to a massive free agent contract.

I would say if you were to look up the definition of “above average NFL quarterback” you would find a picture of Kirk Cousins there.

He’s not just average. He’s better than the average NFL quarterback. But just like I feel with many of the players in the “teens” on this list, there is a proverbial ceiling that you reach with a quarterback like Kirk Cousins.

Can he finally break through that after almost $162 million in career earnings?
