No. 12 NFL quarterback in 2022: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

It is going to be a lot of fun to see how Lamar Jackson responds in 2021 to all the things being said about him over the last handful of months.

I think a lot of pundits and analysts are giving Jackson bulletin board material, giving him absolutely scathing reviews for not trying to get a contract done with the Ravens sooner rather than later.

In terms of what we saw from Jackson on the field in 2021, it was not good. Certainly not by his standards, really just not good by any standard.

The former MVP of the league looked like a shell of his former self. He struggled with injuries and ultimately saw his touchdown percentage decrease significantly and his interception percentage rise significantly as well.

It was always going to be tough for Jackson to sustain the type of other-worldly success we saw from him in 2019 when the Ravens ranked 32nd in pass attempts and somehow 1st in the NFL in passing touchdowns in the same year.

Jackson has plenty of pressure from the outside in 2021, but I think he’ll put enough pressure on himself that the outside pressure isn’t going to faze him even a little bit.

Jackson is still one of the game’s most dangerous threats at the quarterback position with the ability to jump right back into the MVP conversation.
