No. 10 NFL quarterback in 2022: Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders

Derek Carr is such a fascinating study.

Statistically speaking, putting him as a top-10 NFL quarterback is borderline laughable.

The problem is, this list is not being assembled based purely on the statistics a player is capable of putting up or has put up in their career.

Derek Carr is a high-impact player at the quarterback position who understands how to involve every single player in the offensive arsenal.

He understands his teammates’ strengths, and he plays to them. He’s an accurate passer and a mostly good decision maker.

The stats haven’t always reflected it, but I think Carr is one of the best 10 quarterbacks in the NFL anyway, and the fact that he now has Davante Adams will probably boost him into that spot for good.

There are some weeks when Carr looks like just another guy out there at the QB position. He’s not immune to the occasional clunker of a game. But when it comes to managing the game and also having the ability to make clutch plays, I think Carr is one of the most underrated in the game today.
