NFL 2022: Ranking the top 43 quarterbacks in the league
No. 9 NFL quarterback in 2022: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott’s comeback season from the horrendous leg injury he suffered in 2020 was nothing short of remarkable.
Prescott has undoubtedly become a legitimate top 10 quarterback in the NFL today, and he’s reestablished his position in this group after a massive year in 2021.
Prescott completed nearly 69 percent of his passes last season for nearly 4,500 yards and a career-best 37 touchdowns.
He finished as the runner-up in the Comeback Player of the Year race but Prescott went out and earned that massive contract he signed with the Cowboys, a great gesture of faith on the part of the Dallas front office given the nature of the injury Prescott was coming back from at the time.
As of right now, it’s really hard to see anyone taking the Cowboys’ spot atop the NFC East as long as the quarterback alignment in that division remains how it is.
The Giants are not currently a legitimate threat.
The Eagles played better last season than I think most people expected, but are they going to be able to dethrone Dallas over the course of a 17-game season?
Prescott gives the Cowboys a viable MVP candidate at the position and they are obviously hoping (as well as investing a lot in that hope) that Prescott can get this team back into playoff prominence.
That’s the next step for him to take as a player — be a major difference-maker in the playoffs.
