No. 7 NFL quarterback in 2022: Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

After six years in quarterback purgatory, the Denver Broncos are finally back.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Denver Broncos were Super Bowl 50 champions.

At the same time, it feels like it was a lifetime ago.

The Broncos won the Super Bowl in the 2015 season thanks largely to their dominant defense, one of the best defenses in the history of the league.

Peyton Manning was borderline dragged to the finish line in his final NFL season by Von Miller and the No Fly Zone, but nobody in Denver cared. That team delivered this franchise its first Super Bowl win since the 90s.

It came just two seasons after the Broncos were destroyed in the Super Bowl by this guy — Russell Wilson.

Wilson and the Seahawks made it to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014, and were a goal line interception by Malcolm Butler away from being back-to-back champions.

Despite some of the tough times and tough moments he has had in the NFL, Russell Wilson is undoubtedly one of the best quarterbacks in the league and he’s got a plethora of weapons to get the ball to in Denver.

With so many weapons to spread the ball to, it won’t be shocking in the least to see Wilson return to the MVP conversation now that he’s a member of the orange and blue.

Sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders for a player. Just ask Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford, who have won the Super Bowl in consecutive years in their first year with a new team.
