NFL 2022: Ranking the top 43 quarterbacks in the league
No. 40 NFL quarterback in 2022: Tyler Huntley, Baltimore Ravens
Although the Baltimore Ravens would have undoubtedly preferred a fully healthy season from Lamar Jackson in 2021, the former MVP’s missed time paved the way for four starts from backup Tyler Huntley.
Huntley’s four games included plenty of mixed results but it was clear that he had the full trust of the coaching staff to run the offense.
The Ravens lost by a combined three points in Huntley’s first two starts of the year, games against the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers.
It was against the Packers where Huntley really put himself on the map and had a lot of fans Googling his contract situation to find out when he might become available to their favorite team.
Ultimately, the Ravens were plenty competitive with Huntley in the lineup and he showed some really nice things as a potential future starter in this league.
He’ll be the backup to Lamar Jackson again this season, but don’t be surprised to see rumors heat up in the 2023 offseason about teams going after Huntley just as they once did Tyrod Taylor, who went from unknown backup in Baltimore to a Pro Bowl starter in Buffalo.
