No. 2 NFL quarterback in 2022: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
What else needs to be said about Josh Allen at this point?
I think pretty much everyone was wrong about him in the 2018 NFL Draft process except for a small handful who really bought into his traits, including the Buffalo Bills.
In case you’ve never heard or seen me mention it before, I was there at the 2018 Senior Bowl when Allen was chucking the ball through the uprights out of the back of the end zone, not on purpose but because his arm strength was like an unbridled stallion at the time.
Now, Allen has become one of the most dynamic weapons in the NFL at the game’s most important position.
He’s too big, too strong, too athletic, and too good for most defenses to handle at this point.
If teams can get a beat on Allen as a passer, he’s able to ruin defensive gameplans with his legs as a runner.
The type of consistent play we are seeing from Josh Allen now is what many hoped we would see from Cam Newton coming out of Auburn, but we only got a glimpse of that in 2015.
Physically and athletically, Allen is not far off from Cam Newton coming out of Auburn and it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see him win an MVP in his fifth NFL season, just like Newton did.
