NFL 2022: The biggest weakness of each NFC North team

Biggest weakness for Detroit Lions in 2022 NFL season: Quarterback
Heading into this previous season, the expectations for the Detroit Lions wasn’t very high at all as they were expected to have the number one pick in the draft he the season was all done and over.
The Lions finished 3-13-1 and landed with the 2nd pick in the NFL Draft, but despite finishing with a poor record, the Lions played better than most people expected.
The Lions got some quality play out of two younger players in Penei Sewell and Amon-Ra St Brown. The team as a whole competed during almost every game with every team they faced, and the culture in Detroit is clearly on the up.
The Lions kept up the momentum from their regular season with a quality draft.
The Lions landed the best prospect in the entire draft in Aidan Hutchinson and also landed one of the best receivers in the draft in Jameson Williams.
Detroit also had two solid middle-round picks in safety Kerby Joseph and a very athletic pass rusher Josh Paschal.
Detroit also made some pick-ups through free agency also as they signed cornerback Mike Hughes and wide receiver DJ Chark. While the Lions had a quality offseason that made some good progress with their rebuild, there still is a fairly big weakness, that being the QB position.
Goff had some decent years with the Rams before he landed with the Lions, but that was likely because of the receivers around him, and because of his former head coach, Sean McVay. Goff has only had one season in Detroit, but his only season has not been good at all.
Goff still doesn’t have a very strong arm and doesn’t have the high level of accuracy or timing to make up for it.
Fortunately for Lions fans, this will likely be Goff’s last season in Detroit. This past draft was weak when it came to the QB position, but next year’s draft could have a decent amount of QBs go in the 1st round with Bryce Young and CJ Stroud all but guaranteed to go in the 1st round, and other players like Will Levis, Tanner McKee, Devin Leary, and Spencer Rattler possibly being able to join the 1st round conversation depending on how well they play this season.
Even if the Lions had a quality QB, they likely wouldn’t be able to do a ton of damage as they are still rebuilding, but adding a quality QB still would help push this roster in the right direction.
