NFL 2022: The biggest weakness of each NFC North team

Green Bay Packers top weakness in 2022: Wide Receivers
In recent years, the biggest weakness that people have lamented the Packers for has been the receiver position. The Packers have had one of the better receivers in the NFL in the form of Davante Adams, but besides him, there hasn’t been much to write home about.
While the Packers have had a fantastic receiver in Adams, he isn’t on the roster anymore. This offseason the Packers shipped out Davante Adams to the Raiders and received some draft picks in return.
Adams wasn’t the only receiver to leave the Packers as Valdes-Scantling also left Green Bay this past offseason as he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and will likely be the deep threat replacement for Tyreek Hill.
Heading into the NFL Draft, the Packers receiver room was pretty bare. Green Bay did sign Sammy Watkins, but Watkins was the only move the Packers made at the receiver position before the NFL Draft.
During the draft, pretty much every Packers fan wanted them to take a receiver in the 1st round, but that didn’t end up happening. Green Bay selected two Georgia defensive players in the form of Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt.
While the Packers didn’t select a receiver in the 1st round, they did draft one in the 2nd round in the form of Christian Watson. Green Bay also added Romeo Doubs later on in the draft, as well.
While the Packers did add some receiving pieces to this roster, they still have a fairly weak receiving group. The starting receivers for Green Bay would likely be Allen Lazard and Christian Watson on the outside, and Randall Cobb in the slot.
Even the backups in Green Bay aren’t very strong either, as their backups are Sammy Watkins, Amari Rodgers, and Romeo Doubs. Not horrible receivers, but nothing great either.
As it stands right now, the weakest position group on the Packers roster is the receiver position. While it is the weakest group, Green Bay has put in the effort to mend that and to help build it up for the future.
