NFL CB duo no. 7: Denver Broncos – Pat Surtain II, Ronald Darby

Entering the 2021 season, everyone had the Denver Broncos on their list of top-10 cornerback duos, but with two very different players.

Most people loved the addition of Kyle Fuller to Denver’s secondary last year, and there wasn’t really anything not to like about it at the time. They loved the fact that he was rejoining Bryce Callahan in Vic Fangio’s defense, giving the Broncos a pair of veteran cornerbacks in the perfect scheme for their skills.

Callahan was coming off of an outstanding year playing outside for the Broncos after playing mostly in the slot the rest of his NFL career.

Now, heading into 2022, the Denver Broncos have one of the best cornerback duos in the game in second-year player Patrick Surtain II as well as veteran Ronald Darby.

Surtain was simply outstanding in his rookie season for the Denver Broncos, proving to be everything the team thought he could be and more.

He is firmly a top 10 overall cornerback in the league entering this season and while Darby doesn’t receive as much fanfare, he’s a tremendous CB2 with big-time speed who makes few mistakes in coverage.

If these two guys can stay healthy for the Denver Broncos in 2022, they have the potential to be one of the top 5 cornerback duos in the NFL.
