Top NFL CB duo no. 6: Los Angeles Chargers – JC Jackson, Asante Samuel Jr.

Just missing the top five of this list is the Los Angeles Chargers’ duo of JC Jackson and Asante Samuel Jr.

The Chargers managed to steal Asante Samuel Jr. in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and he had a big impact on Brandon Staley’s defense with 11 passes broken up and a pair of interceptions in 12 games.

We all know that Samuel can make plays on the ball, just like his old man could, but the Chargers had to add some upgrades to the secondary in the 2022 offseason because Michael Davis simply isn’t cutting it.

So, they did.

They went out in free agency and got the biggest fish at the cornerback position as possible.

JC Jackson is now a member of the Los Angeles Chargers’ secondary after the New England Patriots inexplicably let him walk for nothing this past offseason.

He has a whopping 17 interceptions over the last two seasons and has been one of the best in the league at creating turnovers.

But they weren’t done there.

The Chargers also added nickel corner Bryce Callahan, who is one of the top nickel corners in the league when healthy.

But this is about the top two guys, Samuel and Jackson. Teams are going to hate having to throw to either side of the field when they play Los Angeles, not to mention, you’ve got Derwin James roaming around the back end.
