Ranking the top 10 cornerback duos in the NFL for the 2022 season
Top NFL CB duo no. 5: Atlanta Falcons – AJ Terrell, Casey Hayward
The Atlanta Falcons might not have much, but they do have one of the top cornerback duos in the NFL.
I’m even going so bold as to say they have one of the top five duos in the NFL.
Casey Hayward is a solid veteran addition to this secondary who is coming off of a very good year with the Las Vegas Raiders.
He may have been the best corner in Vegas last season and played in all 17 games, breaking up nine passes while allowing just over 57 percent of passes thrown his direction to be completed.
His 7.6 yards per target allowed were among the best in the NFL last season as well.
AJ Terrell has simply developed into arguably the best cornerback in the league.
Last season, Terrell allowed only 50 percent of throws in his direction to be caught with a QB rating into his coverage of just 61.0.
This guy is a savant out there at the cornerback position.
Terrell has outstanding size, hands, length, quickness, and instincts at the position.
All of those traits helped him to break up 16 passes with three interceptions. He’s also added four forced fumbles and six tackles for loss in his first two NFL seasons.
Again, the Falcons may not have much, but they certainly have one of the best cornerback duos in the NFL and AJ Terrell is the centerpiece of this team’s rebuild.
It won’t be long before he resets the market at the cornerback position.
