Top NFL CB duo no. 4: Miami Dolphins – Xavien Howard, Byron Jones

The Miami Dolphins might have the most underrated top cornerback duo in the NFL today.

Starting with Xavien Howard, who simply doesn’t get the type of recognition he should as one of the best defensive players in the game today.

Over the last two seasons, Howard has 15 total interceptions, 36 passes broken up, and three fumbles forced.

When you talk about guys in the NFL that can make plays on the ball, he’s one of the very best without question.

Howard has tremendous size and is just simply tough for wide receivers to gain an edge against. He has the size and strength to jam at the line of scrimmage. He has outstanding footwork.

There are few weaknesses to his game and even when he’s beat, he can use his length and speed to recover.

Byron Jones came over as a free agent from the Dallas Cowboys to pair with Howard, and he’s been a physical addition to the Miami defense.

Jones broke up 10 passes last season and only allowed a completion percentage of 60 percent in his coverage.

Throwing on the Dolphins didn’t get any easier last season with the emergence of rookie Jevon Holland at the safety position.
