Prediction: Signs long-term deal with Commanders

Over the last handful of years, Terry McLaurin has been one of the most underrated players in the entire league.

If you’re a fantasy football player, that’s certainly not the case, but if you were to poll 100 casual NFL fans and ask them to list off 10 of the top wide receivers in the league, you’re probably not going to hear McLaurin’s name called too often.

That could change dramatically in the near future as McLaurin now has an upgrade at quarterback with Carson Wentz coming to town.

He’s also not showing up at OTAs absent a new contract, so we’ll see how that plays out.

My guess?

The Commanders make McLaurin a featured piece of the franchise’s new look. Star receivers like this have certainly been in high demand from other teams and the Commanders could look to trade McLaurin, but that would be foolish of them because they have no proven alternatives at this point.

The franchise did just take Jahan Dotson out of Penn State in round one, which could add some fuel to the McLaurin trade fire, but I think they’re more likely to try to re-sign him than trade him to recoup draft picks, especially after acquiring Carson Wentz.
