10 NFL records that are likely to fall in 2022

NFL record likely to fall No. 1: Passing Yards
Current record: 5,477 — Peyton Manning in 2013
When Peyton Manning injured his neck before the 2011 season, there was a feeling he might not return to 100 percent. Not only was he facing a serious recovery but he was also 35-years-old at the time.
That’s why it made sense for the Indianapolis Colts to cut ties and roll with Andrew Luck. While Luck ended up retiring early, the Colts still made the smart move. But it probably wasn’t an easy one, especially after how well Manning played for the Denver Broncos.
Manning was electric for his first three seasons in Denver and set an NFL record for both yards and touchdowns in 2013. That year, Manning had 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns. The yardage topped Drew Brees by just one yard but he still has five more touchdowns than the No. 2 players which would be Tom Brady (2007) and Patrick Mahomes (2018).
This coming season, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see someone come after Manning’s record. And the two most likely quarterbacks play in the same stadium.
Mattew Stafford has been great at pushing the ball downfield in his career and even topped the 5,000-yard mark in 2011 with the Detroit Lions. This past season, he had 4,886 yards passing for the L.A. Rams but now, he adds Allen Robinson to a team that already had Cooper Kupp.
As for the Chargers, they saw Justin Herbert throw for 5,014 yards this past season, and he’s been doing nothing but getting better. Perhaps he can take another step and top Manning.
Players most likely to break the record: Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford
