Packers may regret passing on UConn DL Travis Jones

UConn. 2. 26. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report. DL. Travis Jones

In the interest of really just building a powerhouse defense, I think the Packers could have made better use out of their early selections than they did.

The Packers traded picks 53 and 59 to the Minnesota Vikings to move up and get Christian Watson.

I like Watson and I think he’s going to do just fine for the Packers, but let’s go into an alternate universe where they keep those picks and still take Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt with their top two selections.

With either 53 or 59, the Packers could have selected Travis Jones to pair up with Devonte Wyatt on the interior defensive line, and this team could have absolutely wrecked opposing offensive lines.

The Packers already have Kenny Clark, one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL right now, but just imagine that they added Devonte Wyatt and Travis Jones to that mix along with free agent pickup Jarran Reed…

Travis Jones was criminally under-drafted this year. The Baltimore Ravens stole him with the 76th overall pick so the Packers could have definitely gotten him at 53 or 59.

With Jones’ size and pass rush abilities, in combination with Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt, I think Green Bay could have definitely enhanced their defensive line even more than they did.
