Indianapolis Colts: JoJo Domann, LB, Nebraska
One thing stood out when watching JoJo Domann play at Nebraska — his toughness. A hard-nosed, throwback-style player, Domann is always willing to mix it up and delivers some nasty hits. His ability to deliver such hard tackles aided him as he forced nine fumbles during his career with the Huskers.
A former safety, he also has enough smarts to succeed in coverage. The question is whether or not he can be athletic enough but chances are, he at least won’t be a liability in coverage.
It was a bit of a surprise Domann went undrafted, with many scouts thinking he had a shot at going in Round 4 or 5 but the Indianapolis Colts were happy to bring him in as an undrafted free agent.
During his collegiate career, Domann had 208 tackles, three picks, and 5.5 sacks. His best season was his final campaign when he recorded 71 tackles, nine for a loss, two sacks, and two picks. His nose for the ball will help as he tries to crack the lineup in Indy.
He won’t be a starter anytime soon with Darius Leonard and Bobby Okereke manning those posts but he could be a great special teams ace who could develop into a starter down the road.
