Los Angeles Rams: Elijah Garcia, DT, Rice

DT. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Elijah Garcia. player. 51. DT. Rice

No team trades away draft picks as often as the Los Angeles Rams do. They believe in allowing other teams to develop the best players, then send off premium picks for players who have already proven they can make it in the NFL.

This isn’t the traditional way to build a team but after they won the Super Bowl last season with Matt Stafford at the helm, it’s hard to argue with it. That could also be why the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns were willing to give up multiple first-round picks for Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson.

With that being the case, the Rams do need to make sure they hit on their mid-to-late round picks as they try to round out their roster with these players. It also means they could have spots for undrafted free agents to make their way to the roster.

This season, one player to watch is Elijah Garcia from Rice. Garcia was the only draft-eligible player the Owls sent to the league this year and while he didn’t get selected, he could still prove to be a valuable player in the league.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 302-pounds, Garcia is built to play on the end in the Rams’ 3-4 base defense. He also has the ability to get after the passer, recording 66 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his final season.

Most importantly, Garcia has a non-stop motor and doesn’t mind doing the dirty work, which is what will be expected of him with players such as Aaron Donald and Leonard Floyd making the splash plays.
