Philadelphia Eagles: Carson Strong, QB, Nevada

QB. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Nevada. Carson Strong. QB. player. 54

For a while, Carson Strong was being mentioned as a potential first-round pick. He’s basically a statue in the pocket, which hurt his stock, but there are few signal-callers who can deliver the ball the way he can.

Strong has a powerful arm and is also incredibly accurate — and he still should have been drafted even without having great mobility. However, there were serious medical concerns, due mainly to a bum knee. That proved to be too much to overlook as Strong was not selected.

He did, however, land with the Philadelphia Eagles and could find himself on the 53-man roster. Philly has their starter in Jalen Hurts and while he’s never proven to be an elite starter, the Eagles will surely give him another year to see if he can turn the corner — and the addition of A.J. Brown should help in that regard.

Philly does have the No. 2 spot secured as well, with Gardner Minshew occupying that spot. Minshew has plenty of stars under his belt and while he won’t carry a team on his back, he can get the job done in relief.

But if the Eagles decide to go with three quarterbacks, Strong seems to be a lock. And his ability to deliver difficult passes might be enough for them to give him an opportunity to continue to develop with them.
