Seattle Seahawks: Bubba Bolden, S, Miami

Miami. Bubba Bolden. S. player. 36. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. S

Back when they were the ‘Legion of Boom’, the Seattle Seahawks boasted the best secondary in the NFL. In 2022, their defensive backfield is nowhere near as impressive as it once was, but they do still have a lot of talent at safety.

Seattle added Jamal Adams in 2020 and while they grossly overpaid for him, he’s still an effective strong safety. Across from him is Quandre Diggs, a very underrated free safety. As good as they are, the Seahawks do have room for improvement with their reserves and they might have found a gem after the draft.

Bubba Bolden has the ideal frame for playing safety at 6-foot-2 and 209-pounds and he also put up a sub 4.5 time in the 40-yard dash.

He’s a much better coverage player than he is in run support and has had issues with missed tackles.

There were also concerns about his ball skills, but both of those are areas that can be cleaned up.

Bolden has the physical gifts, which is why Seattle gave him a shot. He also has the ability to stand out on special teams. He blocked two field goals against Clemson in 2020 and was a special teams ace early in his collegiate career, which began at USC.

All of that works in his favor as he fights for a spot with the Seahawks.
