Buffalo Bills: Jalen Wydermyer, TE, Texas A&M
Dawson Knox had a huge season in 2021 for the Buffalo Bills, hauling in 49 passes for 587 yards with nine touchdowns — all of which were career highs. The former third-round pick from Ole Miss has clearly developed into the player the Bills hoped he would be when they added him back in 2019.
As if that wasn’t enough, Buffalo also added O.J. Howard in the offseason. The former Alabama product never lived up to his first-round status for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he’s still a good player who has 119 career receptions for 1,737 and 15 touchdowns.
Even with the two of them entrenched as the No. 1 and No. 2 options for the Bills, there could be room for undrafted rookie Jalen Wydermyer to make the roster this season. Wydermyer was a name to watch after recording 447 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman but he never improved a whole lot after that.
He had 1,468 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career, which is respectable, but his slow development and less-than-ideal testing left him looking for a home after all the names were selected in the draft. Still, he has the tools to make it as a pro and could be a solid option as a third tight end in Buffalo.
