NFL roster no. 12: Philadelphia Eagles

12. team. 54. . . . Philadelphia Eagles

If you want to talk about a roster that is no worse than “solid” in any one area, it’s probably the Philadelphia Eagles.

Unlike some other teams, the Eagles may not have any of the league’s very best players at crucial positions, but they have one of the best overall collections of talent in the league.

At quarterback, Jalen Hurts took a major leap forward last year and proved that he could be this team’s franchise QB. The 2022 season will be critical for him.

The running back position is stacked with Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott.

At receiver, the Eagles already had Devonta Smith but added AJ Brown with one of the smartest trades of the entire 2022 NFL Draft.

That duo should be dynamic enough, but then you factor in Dallas Goedert and the passing game should be tough to stop on a weekly basis for opposing teams.

The offensive line in Philadelphia has always gotten a ton of attention from general manager Howie Roseman and is once again one of the strengths of this team.

Defensively, the Eagles’ only true “weakness” may be at the safety positions.

They have a solid veteran duo at cornerback in Darius Slay and James Bradberry.

They landed some huge pieces for the defensive front seven throughout the offseason in free agent pass rusher Haason Reddick and draft picks Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean.

The Eagles were somewhat of a surprise playoff team last year but they won’t sneak up on anybody in 2022, and they got a lot better this year with the additions they made on both sides of the ball.
