NFL roster no. 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to be thanking the football gods for bringing Tom Brady back after his short retirement this offseason.
Brady is playing at such a high level, it would have been surprising to see him hang up the cleats after last season, even considering his now in his mid-40s.
Brady’s defiance of Father Time is nothing short of shocking. A close second is the Buccaneers’ ability to keep the majority of their roster intact over the last few seasons and truly become a powerhouse in the NFC.
Assuming this team is able to add Rob Gronkowski back at some point later in the offseason, they will be poised to be the team to beat in the NFC once more in 2022.
The Bucs are just so well-balanced on both sides of the ball with virtually no roster weaknesses.
Last season, a weakness was exposed with this team’s depth at the cornerback position, so they brought in veteran Logan Ryan this offseason along with fifth-round pick Zyon McCollum, a versatile defensive back and one of the most ridiculous athletes in the entire draft.
On the defensive front, it looks like the Bucs will be saying goodbye to Ndakmukong Suh but he’s been replaced by veteran Akiem Hicks, who will be a great pickup for Todd Bowles and the defense as well as second-round pick Logan Hall, a steal in this draft for the Bucs.
