Ranking all 32 NFL rosters from worst to best for 2022
NFL roster no. 27: New York Jets
Year two of the Robert Saleh era with the New York Jets should be an entertaining one if nothing else.
Zach Wilson’s development will be fascinating to monitor and the Jets’ progression as a franchise really hinges on whether or not that happens.
The skill positions got a massive boost in the 2022 offseason with the additions of running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Garrett Wilson, and free agent tight ends CJ Uzomah and Tyler Conklin.
Elijah Moore and Corey Davis give this team two relatively established pieces at receiver.
The offensive line looks like it should be greatly improved this year from the acquisition of free agent guard Laken Tomlinson, who made the Pro Bowl for the 49ers last season.
Defensively is where the Jets are going to be interesting.
Saleh has always gotten more out of his guys on that side of the ball than the talent on the roster might suggest, but he’s now got an extremely tough defensive front and arguably got the best cornerback in the 2022 NFL Draft in Cincinnati’s Sauce Gardner.
The Jets are certainly one of those teams that could be on the upswing this season, especially with all of the upgrades they have made on paper.
They are a young team, but I believe in Robert Saleh as a coach to have his guys prepared every single week.
As a roster, though, so much is still in the “prove it” stage.
