With another rebuild starting, there are certain players who have a lot to prove in 2022. Here are five of them for the Chicago Bears.

With rookie and voluntary minicamps over, the Chicago Bears are inching closer to training camp and preseason games. That means they are inching closer to the 2022 season.

Next up is the mandatory minicamp this week.

The Bears started yet another rebuild. This time, Ryan Poles is tasked with trying to get it right.

He also has Matt Eberflus as the head coach, Luke Getsy as the offensive coordinator, and Alan Williams as the defensive coordinator.

A new era for the Chicago Bears and a new brain trust

With a new regime comes new evaluations. It doesn’t matter what a player did with the previous regime. All the players need to start again and try to impress the new people in charge. Not only do players who did well have to start over but players who struggled get another chance.

Whatever happened with the previous regime is now over and done. Everyone gets a fresh start.

That means there are players who might not have done so well recently now with new life. There is still film from what they did (or didn’t do) in previous seasons, but if they are still on the roster they have a chance to make a good impression.

They have a lot to prove not just this offseason, but if they make it, a lot to prove in the 2022 season if they want to remain with the Chicago Bears.

This is what Poles wants this season. He purposely went after players still young enough to make an impact. He picked up players who have a chip on their shoulders. They might not have gotten a fair shake in other places (or even in Chicago) but now have the opportunity to show they belong.

There might be some diamonds in the rough with this group. If they do well then they get a chance to help when the real rebuild starts next season. Here are five of these players.
