Las Vegas Raiders potential cut No. 2: Amik Robertson, CB

Scouting Report. CB. Amik Robertson. 2. Pick Analysis. Raiders. player. 28

A fourth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech in 2020, Amik Robertson was highly productive but measured in at just 5-foot-8 and 187-pounds — which had many teams looking elsewhere.

Unfortunately, he’s struggled to make it thus far and while he has all the skills to be a slot cornerback, he was beaten out by Nate Hobbs. So far in his two seasons, Robertson has appeared in just 18 games with 23 tackles — and he has no pass defenses or picks to his name.

Connor Kurpat of Just Blog Baby admits he had high hopes for Robertson and thought he could overcome his size, but says that could be one of the reasons he’s struggled and has been beaten out by Hobbs.

"“Originally, it seemed as though Robertson would be the team’s starting slot corner before Nate Hobbs proved to be an absolute superstar. When Robertson did get reps during the season, he struggled constantly and was eventually replaced by Brandon Facyson and Desmond Trufant.” —  Kurpat, Just Blog Baby"

With a new coaching staff, Robertson might be out of time to make an impression. There’s no reason to cling to him being a mid-round pick since this regime didn’t select him, which could mean he’s in danger of losing his job.
