The Cleveland Browns have built a rather competitive roster, which could end up making it hard for these three players to make the 53-man roster in Week 1

General manager Andrew Berry has done a solid job rebuilding the Cleveland Browns roster, and that means there’s a lot of depth and competition from top to bottom.

When that happens, it becomes really hard to predict who will make the final 53-man roster. With that being said, we look at a few players who have plenty of talent, but could still find themselves on the chopping block this season.

There’s no position on the Cleveland Browns roster that’s more stacked than at running back.

They have one of the best in the game right now in Nick Chubb as their No. 1 guy. Their “change of pace back” is Kareem Hunt, who led the NFL in rushing as a rookie and could start for more than half the other teams in the league.

As if that wasn’t enough, they re-signed D’Ernest Johnson to a one-year deal recently, after he proved he was more than capable while filling in for an injured Hunt in 2021.

Then, there’s the No. 4 and 5 guys — rookie Jerome Ford and second-year back Demetric Felton.

As a rookie, Felton spent more time catching the ball and has been working as a wideout during minicamps. That might be his key to making this team because he’s not beating out any of the other guys when it comes to carrying the ball — and that’s not a knock on him, just a product of the Browns being so stacked.

It still won’t be easy for him to make the team as a receiver either, which means Felton could be one of the players looking at a possible change of scenery in 2022.
