Just two years into their careers, it’s already easy to see that some teams may have made some big mistakes in the 2020 NFL Draft.

It hasn’t been that long since the 2020 NFL Draft and yet, some teams are likely living with regret at this point.

At the time, the 2020 NFL Draft class was pretty seriously impacted by the pandemic in terms of the pre-draft evaluation process. Everything was cut off in March and teams had to do digging in ways they had pretty much never done it before.

If they had the chance to go back and do things differently, what would they do?

Let’s re-draft the 2020 NFL Draft knowing what we know now.

***This re-draft will be conducted with the first-round order exactly how it ended up, but with new players (potentially) in each slot.

2020 NFL Draft re-draft: Joe Burrow still lands with the Bengals

1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

QB. LSU. Joe Burrow. 1. player. 56. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

I have a sneaking suspicion that even if the Cincinnati Bengals had the chance to rewrite history, they would do absolutely nothing differently here.

Joe Burrow was coming off of one of the most ridiculous seasons we’ve ever seen from a college quarterback.

He won the Heisman, the National Championship, and he did it throwing 60 touchdown passes.

The 2019 season from LSU was unforgettable and there was no way the Bengals, with a young coaching staff, were going to take anyone else here.

Even with hindsight, this was the right pick. Burrow has already led the Bengals to an AFC title faster than any 1st overall pick in league history.

2. Washington Commanders: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

Pick Analysis. QB. 58. Scouting Report. Oregon. Justin Herbert. 2. player

Original pick: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State

There was nothing wrong with the Chase Young pick at the time and there’s really nothing wrong with it now.

Except, in hindsight, I think Washington would rather have Justin Herbert assuming all things would have worked out the same in the Nation’s Capital as they have out in Los Angeles.

Herbert has become a legitimate MVP candidate almost instantly. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now and as good as Chase Young is, having Herbert to solidify that QB position for the long term is something the Commanders wish they would have done at this point.
