NFL Draft: Re-drafting the quarterback-loaded 2020 NFL Draft
27. Seattle Seahawks: Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
Original pick: Jordyn Brooks, LB, Texas Tech
Although there is nothing inherently wrong with the Jordyn Brooks selection for the Seattle Seahawks, perhaps they — and not the Green Bay Packers — should have seen the end coming with the Russell Wilson era.
Jalen Hurts has become a very solid starter for the Philadelphia Eagles and would have been a great understudy for Wilson for a couple of seasons before potentially taking over here in 2022.
Of course, the Seahawks weren’t planning on trading Wilson for two full years, but maybe when things started to go south with that whole situation, they could have capitalized on an opportunity like this to get a playmaker at the QB position and heir to Wilson’s throne.
28. Baltimore Ravens: Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
Original pick: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
The Baltimore Ravens get the best value, even in re-draft situations.
Mekhi Becton has had some injury issues in his first couple of NFL seasons, but he would have been perhaps the ideal replacement over the long term for big Orlando Brown Jr., who was traded in 2021 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Becton is a mountain of a man with unbelievable athletic traits for his size and weight.
He could have thrived in Baltimore playing as the bookend to Ronnie Stanley Jr.
