NFL Draft: Re-drafting the quarterback-loaded 2020 NFL Draft
31. Minnesota Vikings: Alex Highsmith, EDGE, Charlotte
Original pick: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU
Just one pick after one of their best selections in this draft was sniped by the Miami Dolphins, the Minnesota Vikings go after one of the top up-and-coming pass rushers from this class as we near the end of round one.
Alex Highsmith is poised to pair with TJ Watt to give the Pittsburgh Steelers a tough duo of pass rushers to handle off the edge this season and he really flashed last season with 6.0 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, and 15 QB hits.
Jeff Gladney, who was originally the Vikings’ selection here, tragically passed away this offseason after signing a free agent deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Gabriel Davis, WR, UCF
Original pick: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
The Kansas City Chiefs know all too well what kind of impact Gabriel Davis is capable of making on the field.
In this re-draft scenario, it feels like almost half of the entire first round would have been wide receivers in hindsight.
This draft class was truly special at the wide receiver position and the Buffalo Bills got a steal in the fourth round with UCF receiver Gabriel Davis.
Davis has 13 touchdowns through his first two NFL seasons but heading into year three, he’s poised to have a massive role in the high-octane Buffalo Bills offense.
The Chiefs went with an offensive skill player with this pick anyway, and are now throwing a bunch of darts at receiver to see if they can hit any bullseyes. A player like Gabe Davis would be nice for them to have right about now.
