Minnesota Vikings player no. 2: Wyatt Davis, OG

In the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, it looked like the Minnesota Vikings had themselves a major steal in offensive lineman Wyatt Davis out of Ohio State.

Davis only allowed one QB hit in his time as a Buckeye. He was considered one of the most dominant interior linemen in the class.

Davis barely made any appearances in his rookie season for the Vikings.

He was active for just seven games, only seeing action on a handful of special teams plays.

Entering his second season, it doesn’t look like there’s a very clear path into the lineup for the former Buckeye which begs the question — could he be on the chopping block as a top 100 pick just one year into his NFL career?

That’s certainly possible, as crazy as it may seem.

Davis also has a chance to come in and just really blow away the new coaching staff, but the Vikings used a second-round pick on LSU offensive guard Ed Ingram.

They seem to have a relatively established offensive line on paper at this point and Davis doesn’t appear to be in the short-term or long-term plans.
