2022 NFL Season: 3 Teams that could turn bad luck into good fortune
Every NFL fan of a bad team is hoping their franchise can mimic the Bengals and turn things around. Which team has that chance to do it?
Gone are the days of NFL teams finishing .500. With the 17-game schedule, there are only winners and losers. As teams enter training camp, every fan of a bad NFL team has the hope that their team can and will turn things around—we saw it happen last season.
Going into the 2021 off-season, no one (except die-hard fans) had the Cincinnati Bengals as a threat to the AFC North. After a 4-11 2020 season with a horrid offensive line, who could have seen it coming?
With some solid free agent signings, a healthy quarterback, and a good draft, the Bengals were a play away from worse to first. It wasn’t just about the record. Joe Burrow helped the Bengals become one of the better offensive teams in the league.
Who will be that team in 2022?
Last season, 11 teams finished 7-10 or worse. Of those teams, six of them won five games or less. Not all teams are created equal. So there are a few bad teams that won’t make this list. Y
ou won’t see any 8-9 teams. Don’t expect to see the Denver Broncos, who finished 7-9. The new-look team in Mile High now has Russell Wilson as their quarterback, so expectations are high, given they have a Super Bowl winner as a signal-caller.
The same goes for the Washington Commanders, who have high expectations now that they slightly improved their quarterback position with Carson Wentz.
With that out of the way, let’s take a look at the three teams who can excel to new heights in the 2022 NFL season.
