NFL team no. 3: Seattle Seahawks

Like the Bengals last year, no one expects the Seahawks to compete in the NFC West. The division is arguably the toughest in the NFL, led by the Super Bowl-winning Los Angeles Rams.

As it stands, Genro Smith and Drew Lock are competing for the starting quarterback spot, but that could change. According to FOX, the Seahawks have a high interest in Baker Mayfield.

If he’s brought in, the Seahawks could shock the NFL.

Pete Carroll and Mayfield are a fiery match made in heaven. Carroll will have a quarterback with a Russel Wilson-like skill-set.

The difference is that Mayfield doesn’t need to throw the ball a ton. He’s played in an offense where the running game and defense were the focus. After “letting Russ cook,” the Super Bowl-winning head coach can get back to what he does best.

They drafted a dynamic running back in Kenneth Walker III, who runs with power and great contact balance. Together he and Rashaad Penny could dominate the ground game.

As for Mayfield, he’ll have elite wideout talent. DK Metcalf is a big-body star in the making. Tyler Lockett is a speed demon who’ll benefit from Mayfield’s ability to throw the deep ball.

Mayfield in Seattle could result in the Seahawks shocking the NFL as the former No. 1 overall pick seeks redemption. If that doesn’t happen, then Geno Smith or Drew Lock could have this story… probably not.
