5 NFL superstars that could still be traded this offseason
By Andrew Falce
NFL star #2: Diontae Johnson, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
The NFL saw some big-name receivers get dealt this offseason or restively big returns. Even more marginal names got their team’s first-round picks in return.
Could the Steelers be trying to make a similar move with Diontae Johnson? The potential for a trade is certainly on the table for one of the up-and-coming receivers in the league.
Johnson has made it clear that he wants a new deal as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. The Steelers seem hesitant to give him one though, meaning the NFL may come calling. Johnson is certainly a great talent.
He gets off the line quickly and runs sharp routes. He is also a great playmaker in space. He would be a valuable addition to almost any roster.
Even if a deal isn’t struck between the two sides, a deal for Johnson isn’t a slam dunk. The Steelers receiver depth chart isn’t great, but they did add two rookies.
If either of them steps up, Johnson could become more expendable. With the costs of receivers shooting up, a trade for both sides could make sense.
