5 NFL superstars that could still be traded this offseason
By Andrew Falce
NFL star #4: DK Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks
A name that has swirled around the trade block since the beginning of the offseason, D.K. Metcalf could still be dealt as the season progresses.
Rumors were around since the Seahawks season ended, as Metcalf will almost certainly command a massive extension next offseason.
Then, Russell Wilson got dealt to the Broncos and now it seems even more possible that the star receiver gets dealt.
Seattle has yet to properly address the quarterback position, as the only addition to the group was Drew Lock, who came as a part of the Denver deal.
To this point, he has proven almost nothing as a player. More than likely, the Seahawks are angling for a top quarterback next year. That means Metcalf would be wasted in what would potentially be his final season.
As with Johnson, the Seahawks likely see what kind of capital they can get from their receiver. Flipping him for some more premium picks will set them up nicely for a tight rebuild between this season and next.
While the rumors have died a bit recently, don’t be surprised to see them start up again once camp gets underway.
