2022 NFL: Worst offseason move for each of the 32 teams

Detroit Lions: Not fixing their linebacker corps
Dan Campbell might not have a lot of wins under his belt yet (8-20-1 in two seasons) but he continues to field a team that fights until the final whistle. The problem is, that the front office has tey to truly fix the roster.
Not only will they again trot out a subpar offense in 2022 with Jared Goff as the starting quarterback, but they also didn’t upgrade their defensive line. As pointed out by Brad Berreman of Side Lione Report, they kept a solid defensive lineman and defensive back but didn’t upgrade the linebacker spot whatsoever.
"“Re-signing Charles Harris and Tracy Walker was always likely. But Anzalone and Reeves-Maybin were both begging to be replaced, and the Lions kept Anzalone while signing Jarrad Davis and Chris Board. Even among down-spout free agent linebackers they could’ve signed from outside the organization, that was mostly yawn-inducing.” — Berreman, Side Lion Report"
Having said that, the Lions should be praised for trying to fix their wide receiver corps which was their biggest weakness in 2021. They added Jameson Williams in the 2022 NFL Draft and D.J. Chark in free agency. Add in some returning players such as Josh Reynolds, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and tight end T.J. Hockenson and the offense should be much better this season.
