2022 NFL: Worst offseason move for each of the 32 teams

Indianapolis Colts: Carson Wentz trade
This one is probably more of a knock on the move they made in 2021 rather than 2022 but either way, the Indianapolis Colts came out looking bad in their trade of Carson Wentz. First off, we all saw him fall from grace with the Philadelphia Eagles.
While he had all the talent in the world, he simply wasn’t a leader — and was not respected in the least bit in the locker room. In the NFL, you can have a running back or defensive end that no one likes and it’s fine. But if the quarterback is a guy that no one wants anything to do with, he will never succeed.
Even with the knowledge that Wentz was a guy that teammates didn’t believe in, Indianapolis gave up a first-round pick to bring him in. His numbers were fine as he completed 62.4 percent of his passes for 3,563 yards while throwing 27 touchdowns against just seven picks.
However, he failed to get it done when it counted most and that led to the Colts moving on. They sent Wentz to the Washington Commanders for two third-round picks. Turning a first-rounder into two third-round picks is not the way to do business.
The one saving grace for Indy is that they ended up with Matt Ryan, but this trade still looks awful for them — and they could have truly used that Round 1 pick this year as they look to get back into the postseason.
